So…who’s following #KateGate? It’s all I want to talk about. The Princess of Wales is missing, the palace is in shambles, and St. Patty’s Day is in two days—the perfect time for Ireland to invade!
Grab a morning Guinness, y’all, and let’s roll:
Thing #1: There are only four species on Earth where the female outlives menopause: humans, Asian elephants, Japanese aphids, and killer whales. (Please sit with this one for a sec.)
Thing #2: Global consumption of instant noodles rose 17%—to 121.2 billion servings—during the pandemic, according to the World Instant Noodles Association. I find this hilarious: There’s a World Instant Noodles Association? And they’re accidentally positing an economic indicator that’s a great alternative to Wall Street? …Are they hiring?
Thing #3: I’m sorry, did you know you can make brown sugar at home with granulated sugar and molasses, and you didn’t tell me?
Thing #4: This one goes out to my Harry Potter fans: Bezoars are real. However, they will not save you if you’ve been poisoned, so you still gotta avoid going around cursing your enemies.
Thing #5: Bluetooth technology was named after a Viking king: King Harald Blåtand (“Bluetooth”) Gormsson. The Bluetooth logo merges the Younger Futhark runes Hagall (ᚼ) and Bjarkan (ᛒ), Harald’s initials. The team had this name as a placeholder until they could come up with something better… and they didn’t.
Happy stabby Ides of March, y’all!
Jacqueline
Great list!
